Zoey beat the only players rated higher than her in rounds 1 and 2 and never looked back, ending with five wins and two draws. Matt Zavortink started slowly with a first round loss to Zoey and a second round draw with last year’s co-champion Jason Cigan, but finished strong with five straight wins to finish second.

In the Challenger’s section, Corey Russell started with a loss to Oregon Junior co-Champion Roshen Nair, but finished with 5 wins in a draw to claim the championship and a guaranteed ticket to next year’s championship section. Roshen and Robert Fisette tied for second.
